Darren Aronofsky's filmography is filled with controversial and confounding movies, but his latest, mother!, might take the cake.

This week, John and Max dive in to all of them, including a spoiler-filled chat about the most polarizing film of the year.

They're also talking about the new Downsizing trailer, another Star Wars director change, and the life and work of Harry Dean Stanton.

Max and Chris are talking about the Toronto International Film Festival 2017 this week.

That's right. This week John was not able to make it, but we have a guest! Chris Evangelista from Cut Print Film joined us for this episode. His work has appeared at /Film, Mashable, The Film Stage and more.

They start by talking about the other film festivals currently going on including Venice and Telluride. They also discuss that Martin Scorsese's latest film, The Irishman, has begun production.

The trailer of the week is Lynn Ramsay's You Were Never Really Here. The film won the Best Actor award for Joaquin Phoenix during the Cannes Film Festival.

Then the main feature is talking about the films of the TIFF Chris and I are eager to see.

Finishing off with a What You've Been Watching Lately: Chris - IT, Max - Good Time
